St. Mark Catholic Church
St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church serves the east suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama. The facility includes a 1,000-seat sanctuary and 200-seat chapel.
AVANT ACOUSTICS provided the following services:
- Room acoustics consultation
- Sound reinforcement system design
- On-site system commissioning, including operator training and assistance during the first use
Project Highlights:
Loudspeakers are concealed behind fabric panels to provide proper sound distribution while blending with the aesthetics of the sanctuary. The sound system includes audio sources at the altar and rear choir area to provide directional realism from these two locations.
Automatic microphone mixing provides natural reinforcement of speech and music without requiring a dedicated sound system operator. A manual mixing console located in the rear choir area provides added flexibility when more complex set ups are required.
