Reno-Tahoe International Airport
Reno-Tahoe International Airport is Nevada’s second busiest commercial airport. Over the years, AVANT ACOUSTICS has worked on several projects at the 23-gate terminal facility.
AVANT ACOUSTICS provided the following services:
- Room acoustics consultation
- Audio communication systems design
- On-site system commissioning
Project Highlights:
AVANT ACOUSTICS completed the design and commissioning services for the airport’s replacement public address (paging) system. The system included a computer-controlled paging system, with networked microphone paging stations, ambient noise sensing systems, and new loudspeaker distribution systems throughout the public areas of the terminal. An advanced prerecorded flight announcement system was included to simplify flight boarding procedures. The paging system includes an interface with the fire alarm system that can be used to distribute emergency announcements to selected zones in the terminal.
Subsequent projects involved renovated ticketing and curbside areas, acoustical recommendations for terminal refurbishment, and paging system design for a new consolidated security screening checkpoint area. For these projects AVANT ACOUSTICS provided detailed on-site commissioning services to ensure the systems were installed and operating properly.
