Congregation Beth Torah

  • Beth Torah

Built to provide an intimate sacred space connected with nature, the sanctuary of Congregation Beth Torah is the center of the worship experience.  The large glass window revealing magnificent, mature trees and the use of indirect natural light contribute to this connection.

The sanctuary seats 400 congregants and may be expanded through the use of operable partitions to provide seating for an additional 300.

AVANT ACOUSTICS provided the following services:

  • Room acoustics consultation
  • Sound reinforcement system design
  • On-site system commissioning, including operator training and assistance

Project Highlights:

The suspended circular disc at the center of the room provides sound reflections and houses the sound reinforcement system main cluster.  The main cluster components are mounted behind a circular, acoustically transparent grille in the center of the disc. This allows the sound reinforcement system to be heard but not seen. Additional 8-inch, two-way loudspeakers are mounted in the rear of the sanctuary to provide audio to these areas.

The foyer, or public square, serves as the center point of the facility.  Featuring stone block walls and a limestone-patterned floor, the foyer serves as a meeting place for the congregation.  A separate sound reinforcement system was designed for this area to use for meetings, celebrations, and other events.
