Orlando International Airport (MCO) South Terminal C
Orlando International Airport was a military airport in it’s beginnings and opened as a regular passenger terminal in 1984. The Avant aviation design team recently worked on the South Terminal C. This terminal consists of the south terminal complex with gates 230–245 with a pre-security tramway connecting to Terminals A & B. AVANT design the paging system throughout and meshed it with the existing system for flawless consistency throughout the entire airport. MCO is managed by the Greater Orlando Airport Authority.
AVANT ACOUSTICS provided the following services:
- Paging System Design
- Room Acoustics Consulting
- Noise Control Design
- System Commissioning
Project Highlights:
Emily Jaumard was the project manager and acoustics design lead. One highlight was working on an international team of designers. Another was having the opportunity to collaborate in the creation of the major focal points of the new terminal, to enhance the “Orlando Experience”. Especially challenging was the central Palm Court because of its immense size shown in the picture above.
